How to Bring Livable Streets to Your Community

Join us to hear strategies from the founder of the LivableStreets Alliance, an organization that envisions a world where streets are safe, vibrant public spaces that connect people to the places where they live, work and play.  Mr. Miller will discuss success stories from Metro Boston.  Planners will also learn how to advocate for innovative and equitable transportation solutions that create safe, affordable and convenient options for everyone.  Part of tthe RI Division of Statewide Planning's 2019 Speaker Series.

STEVEN MILLER is the founder of the LivableStreets Alliance and currently serves as a Board member.  He most recently served as the Executive Director of the Healthy Weight Initiative at the Harvard School of Public Health from 2004-2016.  He was the co-founder of the Boston “Hub On Wheels” Citywide Bike Ride & Festival and has worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Executive Office of Administration and Finance (Budget Bureau) and the Office of Technology Planning.  Mr. Miller is also a founding Co-Director of the Emerald Network, a campaign for a two-hundred-mile mile greenway network in Massachusetts.
