Senior Environmental/Sustainability Planner- VHB, Watertown (Hybrid/Remote)

VHB is seeking a Senior Environmental/Sustainability Planner to join our Watertown, MA office, or possibly remote, for the right person. This is a great opportunity to get involved in some of our exciting sustainability focused projects for clients such as Massport, MBTA, local and regional municipalities, and higher education institutions such as Northeastern University.

VHB is hiring a senior professional who has experience in delivering sustainability solutions and leading environmental reviews for our diverse set of clients. In addition to a focus on sustainability, this position will also provide opportunities to be involved with environmental justice, Title VI, equity, socioeconomic analysis, and environmental permitting.

Coordinate with clients and manage environmental projects including technical sub-consultants
Support business development activities including preparing scopes of work, fee estimates, and schedules.
Develop sustainability plans, implementation strategies, and reports
Review environmental studies and work prepared by others.
Prepare environmental documentation and presentations.
Manage and execute environmental scopes and budgets amongst a diverse range of technical resource groups.
Facilitate stakeholder meetings, public workshops, and public hearings.

B.S./B.A. in environmental planning, urban planning, environmental science, or a related field. M.S./M.A. degree a plus
11-15 years of experience in environmental consulting or related field
Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP), LEED, and/or WELL certification a plus
Writing samples will be requested.

Skills and Attributes:
Experience with environmental and sustainability-related regulations, policy, and practice.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
Ability to solve problems and think creatively.
Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Capable of coordinating and performing multiple tasks independently, and also within a fast-paced team environment.
Project management skills are desired.
Demonstrated leadership, coaching and/or mentoring skills are desired.
Ability to travel.
